Multi-Files Rename is distributed in the industry standard ZIP format. To de-archive the ZIP files, you will need an unzip utility. More then likely, you already have one installed. Microsoft Windows XP can open ZIP files directly. If not, you can download the latest, free unzip utility from Info-ZIP.
Once you have the unzip utility handy, you need to decide where you would like to place Multi-Files Rename on your hard drive. Most likely, you would select 'C:\' or 'C:\Program Files'. Any directory is fine. Place the Multi-Files Rename archive in that drive and directory.
Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, and XP Users: we suggest installing this software in the 'C:\Program Files' directory. Otherwise, you will have to modify the script file to accommodate your directory selection.
UNIX users: we suggest installing this software in your personal 'bin' directory. Otherwise, you will have to modify the script file to accommodate your directory selection.
If your unzip utility is a command-line version, rather than a windowed version, then follow the following instructions. Open a command-line window (For example, Command Prompt, etc), and change into the drive/directory you wish to place Multi-Files Rename. Type the following:
unzip "Multi-Files Rename"
The command above will automatically create a directory called 'Multi-Files Rename'.
To run Multi-Files Rename, change into the Multi-Files Rename directory. Then type:
| Java Development Kit | Java Runtime Environment |
